Description

Okay, so this was my first attempt at acrylics XD
I decided to start painting some traditional pieces (mostly because, if I want to get into the school I want, I must submit traditional pieces because they are prehistoric creatures that do not accept digital art..) and bought myself some acrylics.

Can you imagine my -rage-? Maybe I've just become spoiled, but god, it 's HARD to mix colours.
Plus, it's almost impossible to achieve smooth transitions between the colours in the painting. Basically you just have to mess around until it looks good.

I intend to continue rageing about acrylics and I will continue to paint with these freaking colours until I KICK ACRYLIC'S ASS.

"until I KICK ACRYLIC'S ASS"

HECK YES, THAT'S THE ATTITUDE! >DDDD

Hahaha, it's funny because I misread your description the first time and I thought that you drew a squid because they are "prehistoric creatures that do not accept digital art"

But yeah, sucks that this school you're trying to get into doesn't accept digital. But in another sense, you've also demonstraited that it's a good thing, since that forces you to get to traditional. We've been through this conversation once about the watercolors, but yeah, really, I wish I kicked serious butt at traditional art since it's much eaiser to go into digital after you're amazing at traditional. xDD

Anyhow, tips are: go look at lots of acrylic paintings. And don't worry, you'll develop a sort of style later, you don't HAVE to make things blend seamlessly. (although that might be my own bais there since I tend to favor a more...chunky painting style if that even makes sense...like `jasinski's stuff *__* ) I actually really LOVE the texture you have with the water there....and is that a shark lurking in the water? xDDDD
