Yesterday, I practiced drawing spiders and snakes, and this is what came out of it!
It is really useful to look to nature and animals for inspiration (and anatomy!) for monsters.

The Rachoid is an eight legged predator, feeding mainly on wild cattle. It has a thick, white fur on its neck and back to protect it from the harsh winter of the north. The stomach is also protected, by plates of hard bone like a turtle.
As the Rachoid matures, it's head decoration, made out of pure adamantite and precious stones, grows larger and more beautiful. The size of the head decoration is crucial during mating season, as both the males and the females compete among themselves.

I found that I very much like designing malicious creatures, so I will continue doing that for some time ^^ for practice and fun.
